Body & Beauty Magic

Hi there, Want to know more about empowered holistic skin and body care? I have designed and included extra information on this page to give you incredibly helpful information, that you may not know otherwise. You doing nothing to your skin is not the same as your skin doing nothing for you. Taking care of your skin is very important and that you should always treat it with love and respect. You too can reset your skin just by changing the way you look at it and treat it. End result? Healthy vibrant skin & radiant beauty! Your relationship to your body should be aligned and connected. You should know what is happening and be able to receive messages from it with ease and effortlessness. Ideally, your life should be full of joy and your body wants you to feel good!

Also, if you think about it, practicing is the action of manifesting. Whatever we practice, we manifest. It’s just a matter of time a will. Practicing is the alchemy of transforming an idea or theory into reality. Practicing is the manifestation and refinement of a skill, especially when performed mindfully and purposefully. Practicing is a ritual that honours the passage of time as a vessel for evolution and transcendence. Practicing is the repetition of a discipline that transforms a potential and a possibility into a certainty and a reality. Practicing is one way we empower ourselves, through the passage of time, fuelled by our determination. Time is on our side. Now think about the thoughts and emotions we practice every time we see, feel, think or relate to our skin? What have you been manifesting through your skin so far? Given a choice, what would you like to manifest instead?

On everything else you need to know about your skin…

Here’s my compilation on how to cultivate a more mindful relationship with your skin and knowing everything we’ve been told to forget.

  • HONEY AS A FACIAL CLEANSER: I’ve been using raw honey as a face cleanser for the past few months and it’s been the softest and clearest my skin has felt in a long time (maybe ever in my adult life?!). All I use for my face is honey washing. Honey cleansing involves ditching convention cleansers in favor of washing your face with raw honey. I wash my face with it in the evening every other day or any day that I wear makeup (which typically only happens a couple times a week), after removing my makeup, I cleanse with raw honey. The weirdness quickly turned into a luxurious feeling of a moisturizing mask. The effect is called a cashmere blanket of beauty. Overall, my skin just looks more even-toned, glows, and has actually survived winter, dryness-free. *Knock on wood* but my red bumpiness and itchy skin has not come back since I started washing with honey. I just think honey is that good that it helped heal and soothe my poor, sad skin. Plus, it came with a lot of other perks too. It truly was a miracle product, and to be totally transparent, I don’t think I’ll ever go back to standard face wash again. Not all heroes wear capes — sometimes, they come in a jar. Thank you bees! Honey is very gentle; it has emollient properties, so it can be hydrating. Honey has all kinds of facial cleansing powers. It contains silica, so it can help remove oils from the skin. It may also contain ingredients that are similar to an alpha-hydroxy acid, so it could theoretically help keep pores unclogged, and the pH is appropriate to the skin. Honey is the oldest skin-care ingredient and has been used extensively for both medical and skin-care purposes.

  • SKIN TO SKIN CONTACT: Oxytocin (the hormone that has a relaxing effect) is secreted when we are touched, hugged or kissed. We tend to think that oxytocin is secreted from the brain, but it is in fact produced by the skin as well. Things that touch our skin as well as the condition of our skin has a very significant impact on our mental health (received by the unconscious part of us).

  • IMPORTANT BOOKS ON THE SKIN: ‘Hifu Wa Kangaeru’ (The Skin Thinks / The Skin is Thinking), ‘Hifu Kankaku To Ningen No Kokoro’ (Mind & Human Skin Sensation) and ‘Odoroki No Hifu’ (Surprising Skin) — all 3 books are by Mitsuhiro Denda. Currently I have been unable to find them in english.

  • Exfoliating is terrible for your skins natural ecosystem. We need to hold on to our dead skin cells if we want naturally empowered and hydrated skin!

  • 3 BASIC METHODS OF CLEANSING: 1. Daily face lymphatic massage (do this daily). 2. Spraying mineral water / rose water on the face. 3. Using pure raw untreated honey or whole unrefined oils (that suit your skin).

  • ABOUT NMF’s (Dead Skin Cells): Splashing water on our face can wash away precious NMF’s from our skin, leading to dryness.

  • EFFECTS OF METALS ON THE SKIN: In a study on the effect of (metals) gold on the skin, it was demonstrated that contact with gold immediately after barrier disruption (harm to skin) accelerated the barrier recovery even if the skin surface was occluded. Pure gold is a non‐oxidizable metal, and its surface always has free electrons. Thus, when gold contacts the skin surface, electrons might be transferred from gold to the skin surface, which might therefore become negatively charged. When the scientists grounded the gold plate, most of the free electrons would go to the earth, not to the skin, so in this instance, the skin surface should not become negatively charged so much.

  • ABOUT SKIN HEALING: The epidermis learns and has a memory. When the skin’s cell layer is peeled off, it automatically heals, but if it is covered with Saran Wrap it doesn’t. If it is covered with something like Gore-Tex, which lets water vapor pass through, it does heal. The epidermis is maintaining its condition by monitoring the amount of water evaporation. In that respect, it has a memory of its normal condition. Calluses are also strange. You don’t get a callus from rubbing the skin once, but as you rub it tens or hundreds of times, the horny cell layer gets thicker. This means that it integrates information to determine what to do. If it didn’t keep track of how many times it has been rubbed, such a change could not occur.

  • ABOUT BABY SKIN: Newborn babies and toddlers have particularly learning skin. In order to grasp the affordance of things, the child will touch them and lick them, and look at them with its eyes to recognizes the shapes of the world. The skin is deeply involved with learning communication and social skills as well.

  • ‘THE BOUNDARIES OF SELF’: The skin is heavily involved with the notion of the self as well. The philosopher Toji Kamata has written about how his self was shifted from his body after standing under a waterfall. Thought is produced not just by the brain, but through interaction with the whole body. What constitutes the self is of course a complicated question, but it goes without saying that the skin plays an extremely important role in your sense of yourself. Although it normally remains below the level of consciousness, under special circumstances unusual information input to the skin causes the self to become displaced. The skin is also immunologically inseparable from the self. It is notoriously the most impossible organ to transplant, as the skin contains a large number of Langerhans cells that make a rigorous immunological distinction between self and others.

  • HELPFUL GUT SKIN CONNECTION TOOL: Bamboo Charcoal Toothbrush. Copper Tongue Scraper.

  • THE SECRET NATURAL JAPANESE WAY: The face is considered a reflection of inner personality, beauty, and health – so there is a lot of attention paid to overall quality, texture and tone of skin. After washing your face with warm water, gently patted her cheeks and forehead in an upward motion. This is to improves blood circulation. As you get older, your skin is going to need your help to stay healthy. You will have to work with it to keep it hydrated and glowing. Let your skin breathe once in a while or as often as possible. Drink as much green tea as possible — make it a habit to drink 1-2 cups per day. Matcha has 10x the antioxidents in 1:1 ratio with Green Tea btw. Cleanse with oil cleansers. Wash your face with a gentle cleanser and warm water. Pat your face dry with an upward motion of the towel. Nutrient dense oil serums on face. The repetition of daily care is the basis of the beauty secret. Cleansing is a ritual and many women repeat the process two or three times. So cleansing your skin once doesn’t quite cut it – because it’s all about the double (or triple) cleanse secret.

  • FACIAL MASSAGING: Massaging your face and placing your face in your palms gives stimulation to the brain.

  • JAPANESE FOODS FOR SKIN: Wakame Kelp, Matcha & Green Tea, Regular walks, Camellia, Nutrition high in anti-oxidents and omega’s. Facial massages. Collagen. Long baths (like herbal and hot springs). Fermented foods. Mushrooms. Seaweed. Pearls.

  • SOURCES OF COLLAGEN FOR SKIN: Boiling beef and chicken tendon aids in making your own beauty-boosting beverage, as – unlike creams which work solely on the epidermis (outer layer of skin) – ingesting an ingredient works from the inside out to target the deeper layer of skin (the dermis).

  • THE SUN: When you detoxify and purify the blood the skin becomes the most high quality solar panel made perfectly for feeding your soul light of all time.

  • RAINBOW MEDITATION: Imagine you are a rainbow (and you will most likely manifest rainbows everyday).

  • OCM: Slather a body oil on your body every morning and night.
