how to start your business (easily and effortlessly)
Hi love!
Here is another great question...
"How to monetize my skills in a non-ugh sort of way and how do you keep growing?"
Here's my answer...
When I started my business (and instagram account) — all I had was the will to do it.
I didn’t really know where it was going to take me.
I didn’t even have a brand, a product offering or an audience.
You can scroll down to the end and see for yourself my old stuff and beginning.
The truth is that just by me having the will to do it (i.e. start and take it seriously) took me on a path that intuitively included learning everything I needed to know on how to do everything that I’d need to learn and do.
But the way it went was completely without any pressure.
In the beginning, for me, there wasn’t a dire need to make money.
It wasn’t about the money or making money.
This started as my hobby thing that eventually grew.
I seriously just wanted to start talking and sharing about what I was learning and knew for fucking sure.
Then, when I would take one step another idea would pop up, another task to do, thing to follow up on or look into, a rename, a redo, a revise, etc.
Very small steps, no matter what, each time.
At the beginning, they were the kind of steps and ideas that included:
★ Make a note of this _________ topic.
★ Create something like this.
★ Create something like that.
★ Write a small blip / riff on a post from my list of saved topics to talk about.
★ Spend time loafing on ig and share other peoples stories and my own.
★ Don’t forget hashtags.
★ SEO is complicated, find out the minimum and move on.
★ This doesn't work for me, find alternative.
If there was something I needed to learn, I’d look it up and learn it (like a one-off -- never stressing -- always knowing that what I needed to know will come to me when I needed to know it).
But there is one thing for sure, I never tried to figure out the whole damn perfect process, I just learned what worked for me at each step of the way, did what I needed to do (as per my intuitive next steps), and I kind of mushed them together.
And from what I have learned over 4 years doing this: that I’m intuitively already mirroring and doing things that like my mentors do, but only learning / knowing / hearing it after the fact.
Wow — so that made me incredibly proud and take serious notice.
Your natural inclinations and interests will guide you, if you depend on nothing else.
What is going to work for you is counting on your higher self will guide you.
When you get into that state, ease and effortless will always be expected and keep fucking surprising you.
If you are down on depending and counting on the grace of the universe to help you do your thing, then don’t fear, because you will be guided no matter what you are looking to do.
Whatever is going to work for you will be where you get guided to go.
Whatever is going to stress you out, will be clear and you will avoid it.
It’s a natural process.
You don’t even need to listen to anyone about anything and you’ll still be fine, as long as you listen to your intuition.
By the way, intuition doesn’t speak in fear, worry, anxiety, though, so you’ll have to learn how to take appropriate action and not worthless action (by spending time on these states of mind).
Ok it’s not worthless — but it’s only worth your while if you know what you are looking at (the shadow) when you are thinking these things (shadow desires) because they are not guidance, they are your messengers.
So, different things.
And through naturally wanting to post and share and do that as the minimum my community and following grew.
I’m sure my growth had tons to do with my content and the fact that there is a spot for me even when I have massive imposter syndrome moments.
My community is here, they read they learn and they level up.
These days because of learning how to be more automated (with my website) I have more time to make friends, learn things, share things, and now have offerings and products.
I have learned how to make this my sole business (for a family of 4) after 4 years and because I had to be taught, and challenged and therefore be able to teach it.
And what is amazing, is that basically what I do, anyone can do.
Especially when you move in the flow of the universe — which I teach in all my courses (and had to learn first hand).
That’s practical living and manifesting and therefore magical living practically. lol
I love it.
In my every day life, things go from extremely mundane to super mystical in a heartbeat and even my children know how to work the universe by listening to me coach clients on Skype and from when I tell them how to work it for themselves.
On that note: I just had to tell my (10 yr old) daughter just now while writing this that “you think that was a coincidence? Coincidences don’t exist, they are just a mundane word for making magic happen!”
So after 4 ish years of me doing all that, here we are, here you are, here I am, and here’s what I’d say about that…
My growth stays steady each month.
My community is a huge pile of long lasting followers who stay for what I have to say.
I spend maybe 1 hr or 2 on what I do each day. And that includes writing and messing around with my website.
I would honestly say that I channel my posts, but I definitely have a lot of life experience that add to what I have to say.
Ignore the follow unfollow game — it’ll suck you in and you’ll lose.
Do not let anyone shit on your lawn or tell you what to do.
People appreciate boundaries.
Give give give give give give give to others.
Analytics need to be ignored (to an extent) — I look at them rarely.
Mindset is the only thing worth spending your thinking time on.
So just like me, you can make money without feeling like slime and grow at the same time (oh god I realized I rhymed).
Are you ready to take the next step?
All you need is the willingness to start. ;)
Love,
Tara xx
